Hello teapot

Yesterday afternoon I realised I hadn't been out of the house in three days!. I think I was developing cabin fever. Mr P said I needed a break from tending the small and the sick and sent me out. It was sunny out there. Who knew? I saw trees and everything!

A spot of retail therapy was needed so I headed here. Three floors of bric a brac and old books - heaven.

Then I saw a teapot. It was turquoise and chipped and lovely. It came home with me.

It holds three mugs*-full and will be used every morning.

And the cabin fever? Cured.

  1. It's so strange when you've been stuck in for what seems like such a long time. To get out and just breath in some fresh air.

I've got my fingers crossed this will be my first week since Christmas that I will have no sick little ones at home - fingers crossed, fingers crossed xxxx

  2. I had cabin fever last week..... didn't realise until I went out after nearly 4 days and felt weird.... back to normal now after some retail therapy and a walk in the countryside, didn't get anything as nice as your lovely 'new' teapot though

  3. I am so glad you got out of the house! I spent an hour with the Smalls at the allotment and that helped hugely - Mr DC working AGAIN. I'll try to persuade him about a night out but I think his deadlines are looming ...

  7. Bless him for noticing! And aren't a few moments of sun wonderfully restorative? As well as retail therapy, of course.

  8. Hope the small and the sick are all soon better and you are able to get out and about more. Love the teapot - such a summer sky sort of blue and it holds just the right ammount too - hope you will get many happy cuppas from it. Wish your haven for bric a brac was nearer and I'd be visiting it too.

  10. A taste of sunshine is just right to cure cabin blues. My DH dragged me out for a walk in the gardens at our local stately home this afternoon and it did the trick, cheered me up no end and I came home with biscuits and chocolate, also good for cabin fever!

  29. I used to get stuck in Ely train station a lot when I visited a boyfriend in Cambridge when I was at university. I never knew it had bric a brac and teapots. It was always just cold and dark.
