I have written a new blogpost over at Garlic and Sapphire, the Sarah Raven blog, about seedheads as both design inspiration and as part of the Autumn and Winter garden. It would be really lovely if you popped over. If you fancy reading more please click

I love your drawing. We have had a pair of long tailed tits on our teasels today. They flew away before I could grab a camera. Karen x
ReplyDeletePretty drawing Emma!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link! I'm off to check it out
Will pop!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing goldfinches - they're rarer than they used to be around here, due to pesticide usage in the fields. It's always a treat to come on a row of thistles sporting a charm of goldfinches.
What a beautiful drawing Emma! And your post at Garlic and Sapphire is so pretty. I don't always leave my seedheads over the winter -- they trap so many leaves that I want to get cleaned up so I usually remove them in late fall.
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the link and enjoyed reading your post, funnnily enough I have just completed a Christmas design featuring a goldfinch sitting on a teasle. It must be something in the ether!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful drawing! One of the joys of having my first garden is watching the wildlife come and go. C.x
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful post Emma x
ReplyDeleteEmma, I meant to say as well, you should consider selling your drawings as they are really beautiful, I really like them...as lovely as your jewellery...keep drawing and showing us all :) safxxx
ReplyDeleteLovely pen and ink - I haven't seen so many goldfinches here this year.

I love goldfinches and the way they come as groups. A couple of years ago we had one that used to come on its own and I used to wonder why and worry about it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawings Emma.
(Hope you haven't received this comment twice, my internet went down as I pressed "publish").
Gorgeous post Emma, we have lots of goldfinches on our sunflower heads at the mo.
